Our Sheep
The Border Cheviot
is an English breed of sheep originating on the border of
England and Scotland. They are known for easy lambing, fast
maturity and strong mothering ability. Cheviots are clean
(wool-free) white face sheep with pricked ears, black muzzle and black
feet. They were imported from Scotland to the USA in 1838.
Cheviots need very little care from the owner and take care of
themselves pretty well.

Ease of lambing and the
excellent mothering ability means fewer lambing
problems. Also, with good resistance from internal
parasites, very little deworming or drenching is
required.
When mature, Cheviot rams will weight
from 160 to 200 pounds and ewes will weigh from 120 to
160 pounds |
